Steve Tisch
Steve Tisch is a partner at Escape Artists Productions and is the Chairman and Executive Vice President of the New York Football Giants, the only person with both an Academy Award and a Super Bowl ring. Steve won a Best Picture Oscar as a producer of Forrest Gump in 1994, and has received two Super Bowl rings as Chairman of the Giants, who won Super Bowls XLII and XLVI.
For more than three decades, Steve has successfully produced compelling stories in film and television, from the critically acclaimed television movie, The Burning Bed, to Risky Business, the sleeper hit that helped launch Tom Cruise’s career. His other film credits include Lock, Stop and Two Smoking Barrels, American History X, Snatch, The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds, The Taking of Pelham 123, The Back-Up Plan, Hope Springs, The Equalizer, Unfinished Business and Southpaw.
Steve has been involved with the New York Giants since his father, Preston Robert Tisch, purchased 50 percent of the franchise in 1991. In 2005, Steve was named Executive Vice President, and with the passing of his father, he assumed the additional title of Chairman. Steve worked closely with John Mara, President and CEO of the Giants, on the planning and construction of MetLife Stadium, which was completed in the spring of 2010 and ranked as the number one grossing stadium in the world in 2012. Tisch and Mara were named Best NFL Owners by Forbes in 2011. Steve also helped win the successful bid to bring Super Bowl XLVIII to MetLife Stadium in February 2014.
Steve is an active philanthropist, generously contributing his time and resources to a variety of organizations. Recognizing the value of storytelling and its ability to increase dialogue and understanding, Steve made a transformative gift to Tel Aviv University, elevating its world-renowned Department of Film and Television into a full school, now named The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television. The major investment will help nurture and grow creative, talented and diverse voices from across Israel, the region and the world. He is also the naming benefactor of the UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Program, establishing the world’s most advanced diagnostic and treatment program for athletes and young people who have suffered concussions and brain injuries. Steve is engaged with other worthwhile institutions as well, including serving on the Boards of The Geffen Theatre in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
