At Tisch Drama, our interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to prepare you for a sustained career in the performing arts and related fields. You’ll benefit from a curriculum that has conservatory and academic components. Partnering with many of the country’s top professional theatre training institutions, our students enjoy conservatory training in acting, directing, musical performance, production, design or stage management. Your in-studio professional training is enriched by an expansive and innovative academic curriculum. That includes theatre studies and general education programs, as well as elective courses in the humanities and sciences. You’ll also get practical performance experience collaborating in a wide variety of productions and rehearsal projects led by world-famous theatre artists and faculty.
Tisch Drama's ethic of collaboration seeks to nurture belonging as learners in the department. A culture that centers on belonging requires a collaborative process that develops connection, mutual aid and trust; it encourages our community to be rigorously curious collaborators, and it is at its best when we can readily move through conflict with care and hold one another accountable for our growth—as individuals and community.
Upon graduation, Tisch Drama students earn a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) and will have honed and exercised creative, analytical, and intellectual skills that have prepared them for artistic and professional achievement in the performing arts, related fields, and beyond. For more details about each component of our program, read below.
